Program Update: February 2026
2026 is shaping up to be a big year for Spatial WA. After successfully onboarding two technology partners late last year, the Program has switched gears into implementation-mode focussed on turning our vision into a reality.
Last Monday, Spatial WA hosted a collaboration session with over 80 stakeholders across 25 agencies to introduce our technology partner that will be building the State’s Digital Twin and explore how the solution can support real-world challenges. The insights and ideas shared by agencies are directly influencing how the Program ensures the technology footprint supports governments priorities and enables agencies to generate place-based insights for any location in the State.

No technology generates impact on its own so a key focus over the coming months will be on user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design. As Spatial WA takes shape, the Program is deliberately investing time in making sure the solution is intuitive, accessible, and aligned to how people work in their day-to-day. This means engaging users early, testing concepts often, and iterating based on feedback, not just at the end, but throughout the build.
As we move through 2026, we’ll continue to share progress, seek input, and work closely with our stakeholders and contributors to ensure Spatial WA delivers on its vision as a shared capability that supports better decisions, stronger collaboration, and improved outcomes across the State.
